EAIG launches Pan-European database on inspections of audit firms

Wednesday, 11th December, 2013: A common database containing the findings from inspections of the largest European networks of audit firms was launched today under an initiative of the European Audit Inspection Group (‘EAIG’).

The database is intended for private use by independent audit regulators from the 27 EAIG member countries. It will include inspection findings in relation to PwC, KMPG, Deloitte, EY, BDO, Grant Thornton, Nexia, Baker Tilly, Mazars and Moore Stephens.

The primary purpose of the EAIG is to create awareness of important issues and promote cooperation and consistency amongst European audit regulators on inspections. The group shares inspection practices and findings and facilitates discussions on topics related to audit inspections, with third parties, such as the standard setters and the audit profession.

IAASA is a member of the EAIG. Further information about the EAIG can be found on its website, www.eaigweb.org.
