IAASA is the independent body in Ireland responsible for the supervision of the accountancy profession and the examination and enforcement of certain listed entities’ periodic financial reporting. As part of the recent European audit reform measures, IAASA will be given responsibility for inspecting the quality of audit work performed by the auditors of public interest entities.
IAASA wishes to recruit a Secretary & Head of Legal Services. The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor/barrister with significant and recent experience at a senior level in a similar role, ideally in a regulatory environment. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate’s responsibilities will include providing a broad range of legal advisory and related services to staff and management, and managing IAASA’s relationships with its external providers of legal services. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for IAASA’s functions in regard to liquidator registration. S/he will also be appointed as Company Secretary and will report to the Chairperson and Board in that capacity.
