The Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA) has published its Annual Report 2025, outlining the Authority’s work in upholding quality corporate reporting and an accountable profession.
During 2025, IAASA completed its first full cycle of sustainability reporting and sustainability assurance supervision under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), examined 28 corporate reports and four sustainability statements, and inspected 26 public interest entity audits and seven sustainability assurance engagements. 88% of audit files inspected were assessed as being of a good standard of audit quality.
The report also highlights six supervisory onsite visits to accountancy bodies, the launch of the IAASA Insights podcast, and the finalisation of the Authority’s Work Programme 2026–2028.
Commenting on the publication of the report, Chief Executive Kevin Prendergast said:
“2025 was a year of significant change, particularly with the introduction of mandatory sustainability reporting and assurance requirements. IAASA continued to deliver high-quality, independent regulation while responding effectively to an evolving regulatory environment. We look ahead to 2026 and to a new Work Programme with confidence and a strong sense of purpose. I am grateful to the Board, staff and stakeholders for their continued commitment to the Authority’s mission of upholding quality corporate reporting and an accountable profession.”
