Kevin Prendergast

Kevin Prendergast – Chief Executive

Kevin joined IAASA in November 2016 from his role as Head of Enforcement with the Corporate Enforcement Authority, having been employed there since 2005.  Prior to that he worked in the Large Cases Division of the Revenue Commissioners and has several years’ experience in the private sector including a number of years working in an audit firm. Kevin is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. As well as holding a Bachelor’s Degree and a Masters in Accounting from University College Dublin, he also holds an MSc in Executive Leadership from the University of Ulster. Following his term as vice-chair, Kevin was elected as Chairperson of IFIAR in April 2025.

Lisa Campbell

Lisa Campbell – Head of Operations

Lisa is responsible for Assurance Quality Supervision, Corporate Reporting Supervision and Professional Bodies Supervision. Lisa is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds an MSc in Business and Leadership from University College Dublin. Lisa joined IAASA in 2015 after spending 12 years with PwC providing audit services. Lisa also acted as examiner and moderator for Chartered Accountants Ireland for several years, in the Auditing Cap 2 exam, the Auditing FAE Elective, and FAE Core examination. Lisa is also the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the National Council of Special Education and a member of the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.

Eileen Townsend – Head of Organisational Development 

Eileen leads the Standards and Policy team at IAASA, responsible for the adoption of auditing standards for statutory auditors in Ireland. As Head of Organisational Development, she directs organisation-wide initiatives related to people and culture, communications, and innovation. Eileen has held several positions in IAASA, including as Head of Regulatory & Monitoring Supervision overseeing the regulatory activities of the prescribed accountancy bodies in Ireland. Additionally, she is a member of the Audit Committee of the Office of the Revenue Commissioners of Ireland. Eileen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance (DCU), a Master of Business Studies in Accounting (DCU), a Master of Science in Work and Organisational Behaviour (DCU), a Diploma in IFRS (CAI) and a Diploma in Regulatory Management (IMI). She is also a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Fergal O’Briain

Fergal Ó Briain – Secretary and Head of Corporate Services

Fergal is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and has been employed in the public service since 1987. Throughout his career he has worked in various Government Departments, the Local Government Management Agency, and a State-funded private entity.  Fergal is an associate of the Irish Tax Institute and the Governance Institute, and holds a Masters degree in Management & Corporate Governance together with other qualifications in management and in ICT.  He has been Head of Finance & Administration with IAASA since its establishment and was appointed as Secretary to the Board in 2015.
