IAASA publishes Work Programme 2026–2028 following public consultation

The Irish Auditing & Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA) is pleased to announce the publication of its Work Programme for 2026–2028. This programme sets out IAASA’s strategic direction for the next three years, focusing on delivering effective regulation, promoting high standards in auditing and accounting, and enhancing organisational capability.

The Work Programme was developed in consultation with the IAASA Board, staff, and stakeholders, and was informed by feedback received through a public consultation held in July and August 2025.

Consultation Feedback and Responses

A summary feedback paper, detailing the comments received and IAASA’s responses, is now available.

Strategic Focus

The Work Programme is structured around three key strands:

  • Delivering effective regulation: Overseeing prescribed and recognised accountancy bodies, examining corporate reports, inspecting audit and assurance engagements, and investigating and enforcing non-compliance.
  • Promoting high standards: Adopting auditing and assurance standards, promoting best practice, and collaborating with our regulatory network and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Enhancing organisational capability: Strengthening workforce agility and resilience, maintaining robust financial and risk management systems, continuing to enhance our processes, and adapting to legal, market, and technological shifts.

Upholding Public Trust

IAASA’s vision is public trust and confidence in quality auditing and accounting, underpinned by our values of excellence, independence, and integrity. As the statutory body responsible for supervising the accounting and auditing profession in Ireland, IAASA remains committed to robust, transparent, and effective regulation.
